I was playing X31 earlier and stalled during a spin.. I held the clutch a little late, but still had speed.

I tried to drop the clutch in 1st going a good 8-10mph and it didn't jump start it... Whats gives???

This game is starting to go to my head

The clutch isnt used in the fbm..

I use a mouse with a sequential shifter (Mouse scroller)

I tested out the FBM, and I am not able to shift unless my car has fully let off the throttle, then I am only able to upshift in the FBM.

I tested out the BF1 and I can upshift no problem while having the throttle down.

Downshifting is fine in the FBM.

However, I've been getting strange results with other cars downshifting (Non pattle shifted cars).

Only with the clutch fully depressed... and I can't push the throttle past a certain limit. Then it will allow me to downshift.

I've also posted the error that I can't downshift only unless I have the clutch fully depressed. I also can't downshift without using a clutch. Again this error does not afftect the FBM

I think this could be along the same lines of the glitch I'm getting.

If I update from X30 to X31, will I loose my setups all over again???

Quote from Not Sure :I tried it out, and it seems that we can still shift without using the clutch, by just rev matching.

It doesn't work in "sequential operation of H-pattern", only for shifters. Fair enough, i have a feeling santa will bring me a G25.

Is there a way you can trick it to do that???? I lost some realism
Sport Tire Compounds

I was thinking 3 different Sport tire compounds would be a good added touch. Maybe rain tires...?

Off Related Topic:
Maybe a selection of amount of fuel and compound of tires while in pits. Would be nice in longer races, coming down to your final laps. That could make or break your last few laps of hard racing. As if you didn't want a full load of fuel and running on bad worn tires to conserve pit time, for the last few.

I've always thought a Grand Turismo Grand Vally like course would be a cool course on LFS. Or maybe a Realistic mountain road like circuit

I've always noticed my clutch seemed grab smoother when it's up to temperature. It will never start slipping just because it's warm or being pushed. It's more of a break, when the surface runs out it won't be able to hold the engine's torque as well..

I could see a glaze level of the clutch if your CONSTANTLY slipping it.. But you could slip a new clutch for a day or longer at a track without really doing much harm.

I like the temp just for a added touch (car doesn't perform up to par untill it's warm). But temperature doesn't have a impact of holding torque unless your glazing it from slipping, and that realllly takes alot of slipping.

I could see blowing an engine from downshifting, and sit out the race or untill you can get pitted in (maybe a black flag.. untill it pits you). Or brake temperature with grip levels being more of a needed necessity on a insim game.

Quote from danowat :Depends, if the transmission is under load, you wouldnt be able to pull it out without the clutch.

Yes, I'm not de-accelerating or have any load on it. I'm keeping the momentum correct.. It just wont push out right. I dont use the clutch to pull out of gear in my car at all in real life. It just doesn't seem to work right on LFS since the X30 patch.

Plus it's werid how you need the full clutch to change gears (up and downshift). I could up shift fine IRL with about half clutch just fine into the next gear (with pushing much clutch. Makes down-shifting with a clutch funny on sequential.

I do like how it's not as much "flat" shifting anymore..

I noticed on manual with no shift help you cant pull it out of gear anymore without using the clutch. You can easily do this in real life, it's how I pull my car out of gear actually. But it seems to hang up since this new patch.

Quote from Scawen :Yes, as in real life you should pull on the gear shifter and while still pulling, momentarily lift your foot off the throttle - the car will change gear quite instantly.

yes because the clutch essentially is a flywheel break..

I really do like how the gearbox has more of a delay until your in the gear and how the clutch let into them.. I guess I just thought, you needed a bit more clutch then needed with higher gears, and took awhile to get the gears with closer gear ratio's.

Love the patch

One thing I noticed with the new formula BMW, was how much clutch you needed to shift and the time it took to shift between 4th, 5th, 6th gear..

(I tested out others and it wasn't like the new Formula)

I could see the shift time and more clutch needed for lower gears because there is a more drastic gear tooth change between the gear and your flywheel.. But once your in your higher gears just a few teeth will add ALOT more speed to each higher gear. Thus not needing as much clutch or time to get it into the next higher gear.

I have another problem now... I had everything running reallly smoothly last night. Then when I woke up this morning and started up the sever again, I got another error message. The sever started just fine, but when I try to join on my other PC is says that "Host is not found on the Master Sever". Nothing changed I just shut down my laptop for the night

It's not a problem asking questions, that's what the forum is for

I've mainly used alot of car forums. Where everyone knows everything, and people hate you for asking questions. illepall

Anyways, I finnaly got on here.. I've been a LFS racer since late S1

K, I got it to run off of my LFS.exe (not deticated). But right now I'm hosting off my laptop. Becuase my Username was in use, I couldnt join on my pc.. Soo I setup deticated, now it's not showing up in the sever list :-\
(filters are turned off and I'm letting it go threw every sever)

LOL sorry to be such a pain on my 2nd post here :-D

If I get anyone to join, they time out I've noticed on deticated. Sorry about how I worded that ^ (it's alittle late here in the states)

I have a great connection.. I'm at least getting 340kbps upload

okay, I have deticated running currently.. It says everything is in order. Soo on my other pc I went on S2 tab and selected "Join Specific Game". Then I got this error message.. "Host has a diffrent game code"?
